Avanos respiratory health solutions have moved to AirLife

The Microcuff and BALLARD brands formerly offered by Avanos are now part of the AirLife portfolio. AirLife has acquired Avanos Medical’s respiratory health business, which includes the endotracheal tubes, closed suction systems and oral care kits distributed by Medidyne.

Same quality products, new supplier

The Microcuff and BALLARD products are reliable and trusted solutions for providing effective critical care. Microcuff endotracheal tubes help clinicians prevent infections in intubated patients. They are made of a thin but very strong polyurethane material that makes a tight seal. The BALLARD closed suction system has a unique catheter that retracts into an isolated turbo cleaning chamber. The entire solution is a closed circuit, which helps to prevent cross-contamination of patients and staff. BALLARD oral care kits help staff maintain oral hygiene in intensive care patients. The oral care kit is color-coded to make it simple and easy to establish a routine that helps prevent infections.

Medidyne continues to be a distributor of the well-known Microcuff and BALLARD products. The change of supplier simply means that customers will now find the products under the name “AirLife” on Medidyne’s websites.
